The first round of the exhibition at +81 JAPAN CREATIVE GALLERY opens by “HIDEKI NAKAJIMA & HIDEKI INABA GRAPHIC EXHIBITION”. The two people will hold an exhibition in Brooklyn, NY for the first time together, who are prominent among the graphic scene in Japan and the world. It is an exhibition that can discover the Japanese “aesthetic sense” in the graphic works of two people who conceal the ferocity in the delicate and among graceful that is one of Japanese characteristic.

Profile:

Hideki Nakajima

Established Nakajima Design in 1995. Nakajima produces a variety of advertising and package designs as well as photo books and book covers. He is also active as art director of the magazine CUT. His notable publications include Revival, TYPO-GRAPHICS, and a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto titled S/N. Nakajima’s works have received first prize at the New York Art Directors Club five times, and he has been awarded second prize seven times. Nakajima, moreover, is frequently honored by the Tokyo Art Directors Club. His works are sought after by many museums and university collections outside of Japan.

Hideki Inaba

Hideki Inaba has distinguished himself by following his instincts and expressing a personal sense of “now”. With his liberal style, free of outdated stereotype, the self-taught Tokyo-based designer and graphic artist, He was responsible for the distinctive look of the GAS BOOK series, the magazines SAL and +81. In 2004 he initiated the personal project NEWLINE, which features his self-works where clients weren’t involved. He focuses his attention on the expression of beauty, detail, colours and movement. He has done graphics and visual production for shu uemura, agnès b, and Louis Vuitton in recent years.
